Subject: ARE YOU OUT THERE (Can you read this?)
ARE YOU OUT THERE (Can you read this?)
Perhaps I am a miscreation,
No one knows me and
I have no postings here.
But I'm the lurker reads each digest faithfully
And laughs at all you have to fear (laughs at all you have to fear).
You all discuss the madmen poets,
Vinyl vision folkie bands,
You never know who's reading this,
You never know who understands and
Are you out there, can you read this,
All the members of my Dar-list,
I was out here listing all the time,
And though the cyber walls surround me
Dar was out there and she found me,
I was out here listing all the time.
Last night we went to see her live,
And why do we go, I guess we do it cause.
But when I turned my email on,
You sounded more familiar than that concert was,
You were more familiar than that concert,
It's the first time that I've seen her sing,
It was too short, I wanted more,
She sure is cute, she signed her name,
And yeah, it looks a lot like "Door"
Are you out there, can you read this,
All the members of my Dar-List,
I was out here listing all the time,
And though the cyber walls surround me
Dar was out there and she found me,
I was out here listing all the time.
What's the subject, who will choose it,
Politics of love and music,
Other lurkers "coming out",
Arguments with cyber-shouts,
There's so much to read through,
Cause the others write much more than we do.
Dar-ling women, dar-ling men,
I know every name on my computer screen.
They preach that we should all love Dar,
They pray that she will never get to be mainstream,
Pray that she won't get to be mainstream,
So tonight I thought I'd send a post,
Just so I'd be understood,
Instead a little voice inside said "Posting's bad and lurking's good....."
Calling members of my Dar-list,
I am writing, can you read this?
I was out here LURKING all the time.
And I will write this down and then
I will not be obscure again, yeah
I was out here listing, oh yeah
I was out here listing, oh yeah
I am out here listing all the ti-yi-yi-yi-ee-yi-yi-yi-yi-ee-yime.
::enormous grin:: Sorry, Kerry, I couldn't resist!
P.S. Don't be glum; your messages and morphing quotes are the light of my
life. Well, one of the lights, anyway :-)
P.P.S. Kelsey - you are my sole inspiration! Without your wonderful, awful
pun, this piece of nonsense wouldn't exist!
P.P.P.S. Hugs and kisses and juiceboxes and green fields of silver corn and
huge gobs of appreciation to Mark. We'll miss you!
One last P.S. I loved how "Politics of love and music" fit right in. I was
going to try to pack Cassini and lesbianism and favorite lyrics into eight
syllables, when I realized she already had :-)
Love,
Katie
<who still hasn't figured out how to stick quotes onto the end of her email,
and is signing off quickly before people start throwing tomatoes at her>
