Subject: WDSUTDD (A parody)

I interred the #darwilliams chatroom last Saturday night in the middle of
an argument by two members of Dars inner circle. They were debating the
merits of the new "style" on TEOS and in particular, the use of the "beat
farm". It is with that conversation in mind that I wrote this parody.
Just as Dar does not have a "wife and 2 kids down in Lexington, Mass." (as
dar-listers all know, Dar, Cindy and the kids actually lived outside of the
city limits), the view of the parody is not necessarily that of the author.
For the record, I do like the CD, and the only other music I heard today
was off my Nields CD. Hope you all enjoy it, and Ill see you at Falcon
Ridge.

WHY DID SHE USE THOSE DARN DRUMS
A parody done with love and respect for both Dar and her Muse

I dont buy CDs to listen to a disco beat,
I just sink to country when I feel I need to tap my feet.
And its just me and the music and the social themes,
Like we would sing together by the campfires in the fields.
If I wanted rock and roll I would go out and buy the Nields.

Going after AAA she now has dirty hands.
And Dars so nice, I think she wants to tell me something
But I say,
Aaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, eeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyyyy,
Why did she use those darn drums?
Yes Aaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, eeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyyyy
Why did she use those darn drums?

And if I had a doubt, and that percussion is worth while
If Dar is happy with it then why doesnt her pictures smile?
And a friend says "its good" She says its "really rad"
I say, 'the drums are just all wrong,
Does that mean I think Dars wrong?"

She says, "Its teenagers that kick our butt,
And you are just an old foggie
Locked away there in a rut, 'so you can grow, and many do
Its when you stop, she cant reach you, she cant reach you
So tell me, where does this dislike lead to,
To abandoning the Dar-list?
Pleeeeeeease, pleeeeeeeease,
Try to get use to those drums!"

But if I do Ill need therapy, they give heebie-jeebies
An if I get to like it, then that leads to the Bee Gees
And I wouldnt really mind real drums
But they have got to put that "beat farm" out to pasture

I hope its just a dream that tomorrow will be through
TEOS is really just Honesty Room Two
Cause I have this wall that says that Im a folkie
I like my music real
and I like my music simple
When I got the new CD, it would be just pure nirvana
You ask me to like this new stuff
And I say I just dont wanna

If the wall would came down, my friends would be there for me,
Dancing with their tapping toes
To the disco beat before me

But Aaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, eeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyyyy,
I keep seeing John Travolta
Oh, what a revolting era
Yes Aaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, eeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyyyy
Thats what I hear in those drums
Yes Aaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, eeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyyyy
Thats what I hear in those drums
thats what I hear in those drums
